This 5-day introductory-level course provides a solid working knowledge
of the IBM Smalltalk language and the VisualAge for Smalltalk development
environment. Participants create Smalltalk methods and classes and
develop elementary Smalltalk applications and visual parts, using
a broad range of VisualAge browsers and tools.
Introduction to Visual
Smalltalk Enterprise

Smalltalk language and the Visual Smalltalk Enterprise development
environment. Participants create Smalltalk methods and classes and
develop elementary Smalltalk applications, using a broad range of
Visual Smalltalk Enterprise browsers and tools. Participants view
and use the major subclasses of the Collection and Magnitude hierarchies.
Participants become familiar with the built-in configuration management
system and create basic VisualSmalltalk Enterprise visual parts.
The course format is 50% lecture and 50% hands-on computer time.
Introduction to VisualWorks
Smalltalk
This five-day course provides a solid working knowledge of the
Smalltalk language and the VisualWorks Smalltalk development environment.
Participants create Smalltalk methods and classes and develop elementary
Smalltalk applications, using a broad range of VisualWorks Smalltalk
browsers and tools. Participants view and use the major subclasses

familiar with the built-in configuration management system and create
basic VisualWorks Smalltalk visual parts. The course format is 50%
lecture and 50% hands-on computer time.
Building Applications with
VisualAge Smalltalk
This 5-day advanced-level course details the use of IBM VisualAge
for Smalltalk for building large-scale Smalltalk enterprise applications.
Participants design and create user interface, controller, domain
model, and relational database parts and brokers.
Advanced VisualAge Smalltalk
This course provides advanced knowledge and experience in IBM's
VisualAge for Smalltalk programming language. Participants design
and implement the user interface, controller, and domain model layers
of a typical application architecture. This comprehensive project
continues with exception handling, performance monitoring, and team
development. The course also covers design patterns, change notification
and multiprocessing. The course contains 40% lecture and 60% hands-on
computer time.
Building User Interfaces with
VisualAge
This course provides a solid working knowledge of IBM VisualAges
user interface development and configuration management features.
Participants design and create visual and non-visual user interface
parts with VisualAge editors and tools. Participants use ENVY, VisualAges
built-in configuration management system, to organize and distribute
their work. The course format is 50% lecture and 50% hands-on computer
